Weekend Writing Warriors #129 – Revenant (Part 169)

It’s Sunday, and also Father’s Day in Australia today. I write this post in anticipation of what my children have in store for me today. As always these 8 sentences from Revenant pick up immediately from the last lot so please follow this link to see what preceded this week’s offering.

Ryan’s eyes fell to his crippled legs. “I’ve been a soldier for most of my life. I took pride in what I did and I took pride in myself because of it. The mission to find the colony ships, to find you, defined me. But now … I just can’t accept that my body would let me down like this.” A sob came from somewhere, a sob like a hiccup that took him by surprise. “I’m angry, Kassandra, at you and at Marcus, but mostly I’m angry at myself.”

I hope you’ve enjoyed my contribution to this week’s list, and thanks for stopping by. Click on the image below to see all the wonderful writers who are taking part in this weekly event. weekend-warriors
