Weekend Writing Warriors #127 – Revenant (Part 167)

Has it been a week already? Last week I indicated that the previous scene had come to a close, but I have decided that isn’t the case so there’s still more to come before I am happy to conclude this chapter of the story. As always these pick up immediately from the last lot so please follow this link to see what preceded this week’s offering.

Ryan busied himself with the controls as Marcus exited the cockpit. Cerebral implants acted in concert with hands as he plotted the course to the third and final colony ship.
Kassandra watched him work, her gaze like a physical weight on his chest. He tried to ignore her but it soon became too much. “What?” he said, perhaps a little firmer than he’d intended.
Kassandra’s eyes widened, but she recovered in a heartbeat. “I’m sorry.”

I hope you’ve enjoyed my contribution to this week’s list, and thanks for stopping by. Click on the image below to see all the wonderful writers who are taking part in this weekly event. weekend-warriors

  1. I really like this line ” her gaze like a physical weight on his chest”, it really communicates the stress he’s feeling. Great job.
