Weekend Writing Warriors #90 – Revenant (Part 130)

Well its November and that means that some of you brave souls have embraced the challenge of NaNoWriMo. I always feel as November ends that I’ll give that challenge a real go next year but then November comes around again and I find myself shying away. Oh well… maybe next year 🙂

Good luck to everyone who has started.

As usual I have another 8 sentences from revenant for you and, like always, these carry on immediately from last week so if you want to see what has come before then just follow this link.

Ryan’s chest heaved as he stood over the fallen husks, hands trembling. The Professor stood a few just a few meters away, white lab-coat splattered with gore, its gaze boring into Ryan’s skull. Ryan, wrong footed by the creature’s sudden appearance, lurched awkwardly into action. The hesitation was enough for The Professor to avoid Ryan’s clumsy attack. It swayed aside and stepped forward striking Ryan’s back to send the man stumbling for several steps.
Ryan turned to face the Professor again, now standing between him and his partner’s unconscious body. The creature’s lips curled into some macabre semblance of a smile as it raised an arm toward him, and Ryan noticed that it too carried something.
    A gun.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my contribution to this week’s list, and thanks for stopping by. Click on the image below to see all the wonderful writers who are taking part in this weekly event. weekend-warriors
