Weekend Writing Warriors #87 – Revenant (Part 126)

From the island state of Tasmania last week to Phillip Island in Victoria this Sunday. I am away again, but this time I am enjoying a gaming weekend where I can really get my geek on. I and five of my very good friends have rented a house on this popular holiday island for our annual Geek Fest. Four days of Dungeons and Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, and the like, without the distractions (and pressures) of real life there to interrupt us. How thankful I am to be able to indulge myself in this way… I expect that once I return to work things might get busy again. 🙂

We’re using the #GF2014 hashtag if you want to follow the action on twitter… but I warn you, we’re all generation Xers so our tweeting skills are somewhat lacking.

As always, these carry on immediately from last week so if you want to see what has come before then just follow this link.

Marcus stepped out from behind cover, gun raised and firing. Red Dress stepped to the side, avoiding the shots and tossed the item it carried toward him. Ryan looked on, helpless as the small sphere struck the ground in front of his partner and exploded in a dazzling cascade of fire. The force of the blast threw Marcus back against the wall where he fell boneless to the floor.
    The banshee howled.
An answering cry tore through the silence less than a heartbeat later and the vault went dark. The last thing Ryan saw before the camera feeds stopped was the professor cutting the power to the vault.
    This wasn’t good.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my contribution to this week’s list, and thanks for stopping by. Click on the image below to see all the wonderful writers who are taking part in this weekly event. weekend-warriors
