Weekend Writing Warriors #82 – Revenant (Part 121)

This weekend has seen the realisation of one of my dreams, seeing Queen perform live. Sure the band consists now of just two of the original members, and Freddie Mercury’s amazing vocals were missed, but the concert was everything I could have hoped for. Adam Lambert did an amazing job. He didn’t try to be Freddie, instead he sang with all his considerable passion and the result was sensational. Roger Taylor and Brian May did what they do best and I could not have been happier with how it all came together. Amazing.

Two Saturday nights in a row with me seeing fantastic bands, I must say I have had a great couple of weeks.

But today I Sunday and that means that I have another 8 sentences from Revenant to share with you. As always, these carry on immediately from last week so if you want to see what has come before then just follow this link.

“Deliberately. Are you saying there are other people in here?”
    “Not people, no.”
    “Then what?”
    “The banshees.”
“Don’t be ridiculous. They can scream pretty loud, that’s for sure, but they’re mindless zombies like the rest.”
    “No, they’re not.”

I hope you’ve enjoyed my contribution to this week’s list, and thanks for stopping by. Click on the image below to see all the wonderful writers who are taking part in this weekly event. weekend-warriors

  1. That last line is a bombshell! Good 8!

Woot on seeing Queen! I’ve never. I watched a video of Adam Lambert performing with them right after he’d decided to join them in the tour. His voice really works in Freddie’s songs. 🙂

  2. Sounds like it was a great concert! I lived the last line as well. It’s foreboding…there be Banshees in our future?

  3. First of all: QUEEEENNNN! I am so jealous- they’re one of my favorites.

And secondly, love the snippet. I’ve had a horrible fear of banshees since I was seven. Now I’m intrigued and want to read all of the previous snippets.
