Weekend Writing Warriors #75 – Revenant (Part 114)

You know that feeling you get when everything just seems to be piling on and nothing you do seems to make a difference to the amount of stuff that still needs doing? When even the things that used to relax you seem like a chore and crawling into a dark hole to hide from the world begins to sound attractive? Well I am in the grip of that funk right now. But for me the best way to deal with those thoughts is to plough through them and perhaps having Ryan and Marcus kill some zombies will help turn the mood around. 🙂

As always these carry on immediately from last week. If you want to see what has come before then just follow this link.

“We’ll deal with them like we always do.” Marcus stole a glance back into the room. “Now get going. Those bastards have almost got the door open.”
Ryan nodded and started to move. He pushed his gun out in front and propelled himself forward with hands and knees. At the corner, he took one last look at Marcus waiting by the opening.
“You’d better not get yourself killed,” Ryan muttered, and continued on his way.

  1. We’ve all been in that funk! But writing absolutely helps, especially if it involves killing zombies 🙂 Another great snippet, I love the action here, even just as small as him sliding along on his stomach through the airshaft. Love the last line too, can’t wait to read next week!

  2. Excellent as always : ) Hope your to do piles shrink! Small typo first line…think there’s a missing we : )
