Weekend Writing Warriors #67 – Revenant (Part 106)

Thank goodness for Weekend Writing Warriors. This blog post has provided relief from a weekend which has otherwise been filled with renovating. It’s fair to say that my D.I.Y skills are not prodigious and what might take someone else an hour or two ends up taking me an entire day (or in this case the whole weekend). Still I am sure that the final product will make all this effort (and in some cases pain) worth it.

I remain unconvinced.

But enough about me. Today, as always, we have another 8 sentences for Revenant. Last week Ryan and Marcus found themselves in a bit of a pickle with hordes of undead streaming up from below ground. We carry on from there, with Ryan having been pinned to the ground by one of the monsters. Once again, these sentences carry on immediately from last week so if you want to see what has come before then just follow this link.

Ryan drew a knife and punched the thick serrated blade into the side of the creature’s head. The husk stiffened as the shock of death rippled through its body, then slumped, trapping Ryan beneath its dead weight. The next thing he felt was Marcus dragging him clear of the corpse.
“We passed a security station back there.” Marcus said. His words interspersed with bursts of incandescent fire.
Ryan got to his feet and added his own barrage of plasma to the mix. “Lead on.”

I hope you’ve enjoyed my contribution to this week’s list, and thanks for stopping by. Click on the image below to see all the wonderful writers who are taking part in this weekly event. weekend-warriors
