Weekend Writing Warriors #61 – Revenant (Part 100)

Wow. 100 snippets of Revenant.

When I first started writing this on March 31, 2012 I really didn’t know what to expect from this story. I certainly didn’t imagine that it would have grown to almost 10,000 words and still be going a little over 2 years later.

In that time I have received a great deal of encouragement and support from a lot of people and I wanted to say thank you for taking the time to visit this site every week to see how the story is progressing. Your continued visits and feedback really do mean a lot to me.

These sentences carry on immediately from last week so if you want to see what has come before then just follow this link.

They took position on either side of the door. Ryan raised his hand, three fingers raised, then two, then one. As soon as his final finger went down, Marcus kicked the door open. He stepped into the room, breaking off to the right with Ryan right behind him going left.
With his head held over his rifle Ryan scanned the room. A husk leapt out from behind a nearby partition and ran toward him. Ryan brought the barrel of his weapon around smoothly and squeezed the trigger. The husk died without a sound and Ryan pressed forward into the room.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my contribution to this week’s list, and thanks for stopping by. Click on the image below to see all the wonderful writers who are taking part in this weekly event. weekend-warriors
