Weekend Writing Warriors #47 – Revenant (Part 86)

This is it, the last Sunday of 2013. For me this year seems to have simply flown by, it seems like only yesterday that we were saying farewell to Six Sentence Sunday and hello to Weekend Writing Warriors. Since then I have contributed every week, initially with some different stuff but then I returned to Revenant and haven’t looked back.

This is the 86th instalment of the story which now comes in at almost 8600 words. It may be a slow way to write a story but it has been fun and part of the reason the year has gone so fast is that I am always looking forward to Sunday so I can share the next bit with you.

Thank you to everyone who stops by each week to leave a comment. Your continued feedback has kept me motivated, and I hope that these few sentences each week continue to be entertaining.

Once again, these sentences carry on immediately after last week’s snippet so if you want to refresh your memory about what’s happened you can simply follow this link.

“You’re doing great,” he said, impressed once again by her ability to keep a cool head. He’d seen trained soldiers wither under less stressful conditions.
The two seconds that it took for the bond to seal felt like an age.
“Use your legs to control your ascent,” Ryan said as he let go of the line.
    “Wha—”
Ryan interrupted Kassandra’s response with a slap to her chest plate that released the ratchet clamp on the spool and sent her shooting upwards
