Weekend Writing Warriors #40 – Revenant (Part 79)

As you read this my friends and I are touring through the wine regions of Victoria, sampling many of the wonderful vintages that the area has to offer. When I contrast this with the situation that Ryan and Kassandra are in, I have little doubt as to which one I’d prefer.

He glanced behind him to Kassandra. To her immense credit, she worked furiously at gaining access to the storage unit that held their prize, when he spotted movement at the end of the line of shelves.
    He shot the husk twice, sending it sprawling backward, but only as far as another. The husks were coming at them from both directions.
    They were surrounded.
    Alternating sides as he shot, Ryan was able to keep their attackers at bay, but the noose was tightening about them. In a matter of seconds they would be overwhelmed.
    “Got it!” Kassandra cried as the storage container door opened with a hiss.

  1. Are you going to get tired of me telling you how much I love this serial story LOL? Because I do love it, and want MORE. Another tense scene, glad she kept her head, happy Ryan is such a good marksman. Excellent excerpt!
