Weekend Writing Warriors #21 – Revenant (Part 60)

Another 8 sentences from Revenant today. Last week Ryan and Kassandra had a bit of good luck, but you just know that such things have to balance out at some point. Will it be this week? Or is their karma bank going to stay in the black for just a little while longer… who can say πŸ™‚

If you want to refresh your memory about what’s happened you can simply follow this link.

Kassandra took a step toward the panel, but Ryan placed a restraining hand on her shoulder. She glanced at him questioningly and he shook his head while pointing toward the door.
It took her a minute to figure out what he meant, but then she understood. In her excitement she failed to notice that the door was already open. Only a crack, but it meant that the vault had been breached. Her earlier relief drained away, and was replaced with a knot in the pit of her stomach.
β€œWhat now?” she said, trying desperately to keep the despair from her voice.
    β€œWe go in,” Ryan said.

  1. This story pulls me back in every time, Goran, and then I find that I’m reading previous snippets and getting excited about these characters all over again. Compelling writing. Always.

    1. Thanks Monica, it means a lot to read that. I will enjoy going back over the whole thing once its done. Writing the first draft like this is fun, being forced to polish up 8 sentences at a time for “release” will no doubt create some continuity issues when read as a whole… but nobody’s first draft can be perfect πŸ™‚

  2. First WeWriWa weekend for me…have to say, I am worried for her…obviously they should NOT enter the vault! Looking forward to more.

    1. Welcome aboard, and thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. Glad you like this snippet… sadly they have to go in there because what they need is (hopefully) inside.
