Six Sentence Sunday #42 – Revenant (Part 22)

Thank you for all your kind comments in last week’s post. I’m sorry I didn’t respond as I was away from my computer with my daughters on their Year 5/6 school camp. A beautiful spot, tucked away in the lush green forested hills of South East Gippsland. Ryan is drawing ever closer to finding out if the Doctor Kassandra Evans is still safe in her cryogenic chamber or if she’d become corrupted like so many of her fellows.

As usual, these six sentences pick up immediately following last week’s six, so if you want to catch up or need a recap then just follow this link.

Here we go…

Ryan spun completely around, the rifle held against his shoulder as he scanned the area for more husks.
    He saw none.
The doctor’s chamber was close, only ten paces away. From here it looked intact, but Ryan knew the risks that assumptions can bring. He needed to be sure, and for that he had to get closer. His heart hammered with every step, head turning as he observed every approach; up, down, left, and right, leaving nothing to chance.

  1. This is great Goran! You do an amazing job of “showing” rather than simply “telling” and that keeps the tension strong and real. I’m totally looking forward to Ryan finding Dr. Evans.

  2. My heart was thumping along with his. Another very intense scene. I always look forward to reading more. 🙂
