Six Sentence Sunday #9

Another six featuring Craven, and Keldirk. It is taken from my current WIP, The Grandfather’s Blades.

“She was alive when the crossbow bolts went in,” Keldirk said as Craven neared. “It was the slit throat that killed her and that was done last.”
“What are these cuts on her forearms?”
    “Practice shots I’d say.”
    “What?”
“Looks to me like the killer was using her for target practice, taking pot-shots until he nailed the wrists.”

  1. Nobody deserves what was done to her, but rest assured that finding the killer is now their prime objective.

I was a bit nervous about this one. My previous sixes have been much lighter in mood so this was a bit of a risk – thank you all for the great response.
