Fantasy Fight Scenes #2

Three more fight scenes added to the reference list. These are taken from some old historical fiction and fantasy books. They are three completely different types of fights and have distinct ways of describing the battle.

I would like to warn readers, that these scenes may contains spoilers of the novels they are taken from. So if you haven’t read the book, and you are planning to, then perhaps avoid reading that particular scene.

The scenes have been arranged by author, and then book, are listed alphabetically below:

David Eddings

Robert Shea

Eiji Yoshikawa

I hope you like them, and if you have any suggestions for other combats to include please send them through. I’ll gladly add them.

    1. My favourite is the third one. It’s so different from all the others. It’s not often you can describe a fight using the word stillness. But for much of the duel the two opponents simply stand there looking at each other while snow piles up on them.

Yet somehow it still reads like a fight and you have no trouble picturing what is going on.
