I was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1970 and grew up in the Latrobe Valley with my mother, father and younger sister. I have always enjoyed reading, in fact the first series of books I can remember reading as a child was The Three Investigators Series.
My introduction to fantasy fiction didn’t come until high school when a friend of mine suggested I read The Hobbit (clichéd I know) and from there came the Lord of The Rings, The Belgariad, The Shannara Books, everything by David Gemmell.
I was hooked.
Since then I have spent countless hours reading a vast collection of novels in a range of subjects but I always find that I enjoy the escapism offered by fantasy – especially epic fantasy – or science fiction.
Most recently the work of Joe Abercrombie, Scott Lynch, Peter V Brett, Brent Weeks and Patrick Rothfus have filled my imagination and fuelled my passion.
In April 2011 I published my first short story on Amazon and have since unleashed two other works onto the world. Visit my books page to see what I have available.
Right now I am working on my first full length novel. The inspiration for which was taken from a long running table top RPG game I played with a group of friends in the early 1990s. A version of these playing sessions has been online before in the form of a series of web episodes published between 1996 and 2008 and some of these have been distilled into the book.
If you are interested in seeing what the first of those web episodes looked like then just click here and be transported back to the online world of 1996.

HI. Lost your email so I will reply here. I would be interested in reading a short piece of your work, maybe you could read something of mine?
Good luck with your novel
G’day Goran! Excuse the C & P-ing but I’ve nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award. If you accept, please follow this link: http://richardleonard.wordpress.com/2012/06/09/versatile-blogger-award/
If I accept? Are you crazy man? Of course I will
Thank you.
No probs.
Crazy? You should see the crazy-filter sitting between my mind and typing hands! I get the feeling some people (not you) take their blogging too seriously to be concerned with what they might see as trivial awards that can be handed out by anyone. But as you said in your it is a good way to introduce yourself to the blogging community and potentially find other like-minded people.
